Henri Cartier Bresson

Henri was a French humanist photographer


considered the masters of candid photography and
an early use of 35mm film. He helps develop street
photography, and approvingly cited a notion of the
inevitability of a decisive moment, a term adopted
as the title for his first major book. His work has
influenced many photographers
Bresson was born in cantaloupe-en- brie, seine-etMarne, France, on august 22nd 1908 august 3rd
2004. And was oldest out of five children.
Young Henri took holiday snapshots with a box brownie. He
later experimented with a 3x4 view camera. His parents
supported him financially so Henri could pursue photography
more freely than his contemporaries. Henri also sketched. His
mothers family were cotton merchants and landowners from
Normandy, where Henri spent part of his childhood.
