Explain the differences between job enlargement and job enrichment and analyze

the relative advantages of these two approaches in organizations you have worked
for.
Job enrichment is defined as the process of building personal achievement,
recognition, challenge, responsibility, and growth opportunities into a persons job.
Which has the effect of providing an individual with motivation to perform more
challenging job task better due to accountability (Ivancevich, 2014). While Job
enlargement involves the increase in range of a job. This action is supposed to
result in better job performance as well, and leads to a more satisfied workforce. So
Job enrichment enlarges job depth and job enlargement is a necessary precondition
for job enrichment (Ivancevich, 2014).
In my experience in the workforce, my goal has always been towards job
enlargement. Even in the current role that I am in as an Account Manager, the goal
is always to increase my skill set in order to attain a higher level of success within
the job field. I want to know more to be able to be promoted and attain a larger
salary. I think this in turn will lead to job enrichment because the fact that I already
know now that I want to be promoted. So this drives me to take on more challenging
tasks at work and get more recognition for the work that I do.
