June Newsletter 2016

Holy Spirit School

Dear Parents,
Thank- you for all of your support and kindness. We really
appreciate all of your dedication and hard work. We know that
your children will be grateful for all of the hard work and extra
time that you have spent with them for their first full year of
school. We hope that you have a great month and a wonderful
summer. God Bless and take care!
Happy Birthday in June, July and August to:
Casey, Lyla, Cale, Madison, Kayla, Jace, Jordan,
Alex and Samuel in 1Y, to Fiona, Wilder, Ava,
Clodagh, Sophie and Brett in 1J, and to Emily,
Tiago, Natalie, Gracelyn and Nicole in 1P.

Here are some June events

1. Lots of Socks Day Wednesday, June 1 - to bring awareness to
Down Syndrome, the school is participating in Lots of Socks Day!
Wear your most colourful socksand lots of them!!
2. Gallery 501/ Library Fieldtrip- Tuesday, June 7 9:50 am -2:30
pm
-This is a full day fieldtrip. The children will be participating
in a gallery tour, an art program and a library tour.
-Bring a disposable, bag lunch as we will be eating in the park
or at the gallery, depending on the weather. We have two
buses so parent helpers are welcome to ride the bus with us.
Each class needs 4 parent helpers. Please contact your
childs teacher if you are able to join us for our final field trip
of the year.
3. Elementary Sports Day afternoon of Thursday, June 23rd.
Parents who are interested in volunteering can sign up directly on
the google calendar that was emailed out to parents. Please sign up
to help if possible.
4. Poetry Picnic will be June 27th in the afternoon. We will be
having a picnic and have a chance to read our poetry that we have
practiced all year. Please send a hat, glasses, towel and a snack and
drink for this event.
5. Grade 1Y will be going to BOWL with their Grade 5 buddies on
the morning of June 27th at 10:45-11:45

Keep up the reading, spelling and math fact practice!

Thanks for letting us teach your child. We have enjoyed every
minute of them. We have learned a lot from them also. Have a
great summer holiday and keep up the great parenting in Grade
Two.
