    Fourth grade students will create picture books to teach younger students about bullying. Students will work in groups of 4-5 to write and illustrate the books. The books will teach about what bullying is, how to prevent it and resolve conflicts nonviolently, the benefits of nonviolence, and how to be a good friend. Lessons will cover informative writing, editing, defining bullying, preventing bullying through scenarios, resolving conflicts nonviolently, and the benefits of nonviolence. Students will be assessed on their collaborative skills, presentation skills, demonstration of resolving conflicts and consequences of bullying, demonstration of friendship qualities, and the quality of their writing.
