WP 2 Reverse Outline

Intro/Thesis

Through its discipline-specific organizational move of following an

IMRAD structure, and by a simplification move that it shares with the
other academic article, Greer and Tolberts empirical article is proven as
the strongest, most effective way to present new research into MDMA

Paragraph 1

Here I just introduce the authors and the articles I will be

discussing.

Paragraph 2

I introduce how Greer and Tolbert use IMRAD in this paragraph,

explain the move, and why it is strong/effective.

Paragraph 3

Here I propose another option for organization, explain why it would

be a poor choice, and mention how Ganders health article follows
this ineffective move.

Paragraph 4

This paragraph explains how Pentney doesnt follow IMRAD which

makes it less effective than Greer and Tolberts, but how it is still
more successful than Ganders total lack of formal, clear
organization.

Paragraph 5

I discuss how going into great detail about methods is a disciplinary

move for Greer and Tolberts psychology empirical article. I also
give an example about the level of detail of one part of the methods
and why it is important.

Paragraph 6

Another success is the addition of alternative procedures for Greer

and Tolbert, which makes them stand out from the other two
articles.

Paragraph 7

I talk about a move that the two academic articles share which is
how they simplify or explain unfamiliar terms.

Paragraph 8

Here, I talk about how Gander in the health news article fails to
follow this move, why it is unsuccessful for her, and how it hurts her
article.

Paragraph 9

Conclusion! Moves either help or hurt your article, and Greer and
Tolbert made the strongest moves to help them communicate new
research about MDMA in the best way.
