Men and women who hate God are trying to change society.
I. God designed the family as an initial framework for
connection and care.
A. Every child that is born has a mother and father, an
immediate connection to other person on this planet.
B. That connection carries moral responsibility (if you bring a
child into the world you are responsible to care for the child).
II. God revealed roles for the family.
A. The father -- the head of the home.
1. Being head of the home means that he is accountable
before God for what goes on in the home.
2. Providing for the spiritual needs of the family is the
more important part of our role as fathers.
B. The mother -- the heart of the home (keeper at home).
1. Her attitude and compassion shape the atmosphere
of the home.
2. The position of a wife was specifically designed for
the benefit of the husband (2:18).
3. God brings together a complementary pair, each
bringing their own set of abilities and strengths to the
family.
C. Children -- training to become hands in the home.
God put you in the family you are in....for a purpose.
III. God designed other groups for connection and care.
A. Government within society -- (Gen 9:5-6; Rom 13:1-7).
B. The church -- a spiritual family (Heb 13:17
God established the family, government and the church.
He set the pattern: who is in authority and what the
responsibilities are.
