Daniel jarvis

Who are the ASA?

The Advertising Standards Authority is the self-regulatory
organisation of the advertising industry in the United Kingdom

What do they do?

The ASA take complaints from the public and decide whether they
want to ban specific adverts in the UK, this can be due to sexual, racist
or anti sematic content

3 ads that have been banned by

ASA

This ad was banned because

complaints came in saying that
the ad encouraged dangerous
driving as in the shot the gear
changed and the tachometer
increased rapidly.

What rule was broken

- The rule that was broken in this advert was the rule that the advert
was encouraging dangerous behaviour (fast driving/speeding)
Do you think they were right
- I think in this instance they were wrong because they are assuming
that everybody will take the way they see the advert in that way, we
know this wont happen because the people who made this advert
didnt see it that way
What effect does it have
i dont think this ad would have had any effect on the audience other
than them seeing a nice fast car which they might want to buy
