The faith that Earth is a living organism, throbbing with life and energy; is fundamental to the Vastu
Shastra. That living energy is symbolized as a person; he is the Vastu Purusha. The site for the
proposed construction is his field; Vastu Purusha Mandala. In fact the Vastu Purusha Mandala, the
site plan, is his body.
Vastu is also derived from the sanskrit word vasathi which means comfort. Comfort is related to
the right proportion and positioning of the five elements agni=fire, vaayu=air, vaari=water,
prithvi=earth and akash=sky in our surroundings. The complex interplay of the above elements along
with the eight directions (E, W, N, S, NE, SE, SW, NW) can profoundly influence the lives of the
people living or working in the premises either positively or negatively.

The fundamental principle of Vastu Shastra is to add Value to the Life of man staying in a building
by bringing about harmony between man, nature and the built environment. So, buildings designed
according to Vastu guidelines are believed to vibrate with Universal Positive Energy and create a
feeling of contentment and well-being for the occupants.

WHAT ARE THE FIVE ELEMENTS OR THE PANCHABHUTAAS AND THEIR

EFFECTS ON LIVING THINGS?
Vaastu rests on the assumption that the Earth is a living organism out of which other living
creatures and organic forms emerge, and so every particle on Earth possesses live energy.
The life on Earth is possible because of the five basic and essential elements known as the
Panchabhutaas.They are Aakaasha (Space), Vaayu (Air), Agni (Fire), Jala (Water) and
Bhoomi (Earth). All creatures on the Earth including buildings are physically made up of these
elements.

Many factors govern the life of a human being ; his fate, Karma and
surroundings. BUT VAASTU CAN MAKE SWEET THINGS SWEETER AND
BITTER LESS BITTER.
Like many of our traditions, Vaastu too got neglected over the centuries for want
of patronage; hence the present society could not very much appreciate and
utilise this science in their construction of house, shops, office or industrial
complexes. If construction is not according to the principles of .VAASTU. then
thinking and action of the people dwelling or working in these places is not
harmonious and evolutionary; leading to disorder & illness.
This is one of the main reason of discontent and sufferings of the society at

The Shastra is being gradually applied not only in Houses but also in
Commercial buildings and industries, where the clients stakes are high. For
example, Vaastu assigns the kitchens, chimneys, Furnace, boiler etc. to a
certain corner on the basis of wind directions to prevent the smoke and cooking
fumes from flowing into the living/working area and affecting the health of the
residents/ workers. Thus there is a great need for the architects and Vaastu
Engineers to coordinate; since an architect can build a posh house but cannot
assure happy life to the people living in that house, whereas Vaastu -science
assures peace, prosperity and progress to the owner as also the inmates. This

Mahavastu is based on the spirit of Sankya or Samkhya Yoga.

Framework of manifestation: Sankhya philosophy offers a framework for all the levels
of manifestation, from the subtlest to the grossest. Sankhya comes from samyag akhyate,
which literally means that which explains the whole. Sankhya deals with prakriti (matter),
purusha (consciousness), buddhi or mahat (intelligence), ahamkara (I-am-ness), three
gunas (elements of stability, activity, and lightness), mind (manas), cognitive and active
senses (indriyas), and the five subtle and gross elements (earth, water, fire, air, and
space). In light of its breadth, it contains all of the domains of Vaisheshika, Nyaya, and
Mimasa.
In Yoga, the attributes of Five elements are considered as Triguna (Rajas, Tamas and
Sattva). In Ayurveda they attribute to Tridoshas (Vaats, Pitta and Kafa or Kapha).
Similarly in Mahavastu, the attributes of Five elements are used in the same form as visible
in manifest world.
Following the FOUR step analysis, Mahavastu renders solutions to Vastu Doshas without
demolition.
Vastu for Factories
The broad principles of Mahavastu apply on every enclosed space. However, it is important
to understand the activities designated in sixteen(16) Mahavastu zones, their harmony
with the element of that zone, the colour scheme in harmony with colours of elements of
each zone etc.

Why should finished goods be stored in North West zone?
