Minutes of Serra Club Meeting

Marilyn Kathol, Nancy Rice, Pat & Jerry Schmit, Linda Kerkman. No Guests

The meeting was opened by Linda Kerkman with Serra Vocation Prayer.
Secretary:
The minutes of the previous meeting were approved and can be found on the

Treasurer; Kathleen OBrien Treasurers report: Balance: $7,707.14 after receiving $600 in dues.
Programs: David Lux presented the program: an explanation of the Serrans prayer taken from the Serrans
handbook. He recommends we all look into the book and use it. Dave will not be here in June; Nancy was
asked to fill in. He also added that if anyone asks you, Why are you a Serran? to respond, I love the
Eucharist.
Communication: Resignation was received from Marianne Wright.
Vocations: There are six ordinations this year. Several members plan to attend. Also encouraged to
attend Deacon ordination on May 27th. June 4th. Marcus Knecht, Tobias Letak, Rafael Majano, Patrick
Nields, Eliot Schwer and Joseph Sund will be ordained.
Membership: 33 paid members. After the priests moves we plan to reach out to pastors for membership
suggestion. Sympathy card was circulated for Beth and Leon on the occasion of Beths fathers death. Bob
Campney and Linda discussed reaching out to Columbus for recruitment.
Nominating Committee: Dave is continuing to search for Vocation Vice President and Secretary and VP
of Membership
Old Business: :
By laws: Mary Lux went through the proposed changes to our by-laws,the third vote was
taken and adopted.
I-Collar Series: June 19th. Tailgating begins at 1 PM and gates open at 3:00 pm.
New Business:
Seminarian Picnic: Leon Gentrup will chair the Seminarian Picnic on July 20. Details will be discussed at
the June meeting.
District Governor, Bob Campney, Would like to meet with a few members to set goals Linda will invite
several and the goals will then be brought to the whole group.

faith. Only Holiness can transform the Church.
