Murray argues that the food industry is showing great correlation with the tobacco
industry in their marketing tactics. The food industry is using the same strategies in trying to
promote and sell their products as the tobacco industry did before government intervention. She
argues that it is time that the food industry take responsibility for the obesity epidemic just as the
tobacco industry did for health related issues. Kristian Murray is a sophomore at Northern
Oklahoma College majoring in mathematics. Murrays sources are from two dependable sources
that were published in the year 2013, making them more applicable to current events on this
topic. Her paper is a great argument that suggests that the food industry taking responsibility for
the obesity epidemic that is sweeping the nation.
