INT. FAMILY HOME. DAY

SI and his family are sitting down at the dining table
enjoying a meal. SI is a criminal in his former life who has
spent the last 20 years in prison for armed robbery and
missed his family evolve and his kids grow up, hes still
got the angry side within him though and fights a daily
battle to stay on the straight and narrow. SI has been
married to Sarah since he was a young man despite spending
the majority of his life within prison, she has given up her
friends and family to stay loyal to the love of her life.
SIs son, Emily had a bright upbringing as the family had
inherited a lot of money from parents hence the stable
financial situation. Unfortunately for EMILY she got
involved with the wrong people and has now been led down a
road of drug abuse by boyfriend, MICHAEL. EMILY has a son
with a previous boyfriend called TEDDY who has been caught
up in this whole process.
SARAH
Thats what I like to hear.
SI
You looking forward to dinner?
TEDDY
Its always horrible
SI
Cheeky bugger.
TEDDY laughs and puts a napkin on his lap
SI
No EMILY today then?
Beat.
SARAH
No, love
SI
Why?
SARAH
Shes busy!
SI
She cant even make time to see me?

SI

SARAH
Ive already told you TEDDY, shes
just having a break
Teddy sighs and carries on eating
INT. BEDROOM. DAY
TEDDY goes to bed while SARAH and SI go to bed to make love.
SI mounts SARAH and while he is ready to go he sees a grey
hair out of the corner of his eye.
SI
What the fuck is that?

That bloody hair, its not yours is

SARAH
I cant even see it
SI picks up the hair and shows Sarah
SI
This bloody hair, Im not fucking
stupid, whos it?
SARAH
I have no idea, maybe the cleaners?
SI
Dont give me that bullshit, she
has red hair
SARAH
SI, youve been back a day and
youre going mad at me for having a
hair in the bed. What is wrong with
you?
SI
What is wrong with me? Youve been
having other men back in our bed
SARAH
Youve found a hair in the bed and
youre convinced that Ive been
fucking another man. Theres
something wrong in that head of
yours.
SI gets up and walks backwards and forwards with head in
hands
SARAH
I have no idea whos hair that is
SI
Get out of my bed
SARAH bursts into tears and runs to the bathroom. Si is
shouting

SARAH
Please stop shouting baby, just
trust me, Im not the type to sleep

Ive done everything for this
family and youve slapped it back
in my face
SARAH
Done everything? Youve been locked
up for the past 20 years. Youre a
joke
SI
That robbery was to save us, it
backfired but youve been living
the lavish lifestyle in this place
while Ive been locked up.
SI gives up trying to argue and punches a hole through the
wardrobe before retiring for the night.
SCENE 2. INT. FAMILY HOME. MORNING
SI awakes from his sleep and there is no Sarah to be seen,
she has left for work. SI gets up and is confused as to
where he is, he goes downstairs and grabs a cup of orange
juice. Si looks out of the window and into the distance,
its evident that he is thinking about what could have been
and the Dad he could have been. Si walks into his man cave
and picks the phone up.
INT. FAMILY HOME. MORINING. MAN CAVE
SI
Oi ROD
ROD (OS)
Whats up Geez?
SI
Howre you?

You know mate, just taking day by

SI
Up to much today?
ROD (OS)
Not much SI, make sure you stay at

ROD (OS)

about whats happening with your
daughter, isnt it?
SI

youve hardly been perfect.
ROD (OS)

is that Em moved in with her fella
SI is pacing around his man cave puffing on a cigar
SI

ROD (OS)

ROD (OS)

Life has a journey for everyone SI,
let EMILY live her life, she is
intelligent enough to do the right
things
SI
Do you know where she is living?
ROD (OS)
I think theyre in the Barack
Flats, no idea which one though
SI
The barracks? How has this happened
to my beautiful girl? Shes got a
good kid and shes being led down
the wrong path by some drug dealing
prick.
SI slams the phone down and crumbles with tears rolling down
his face, he could have been there for EMILY, he could have
guided her down a path different to the one he had lived,
the grey hair had popped back into his head, it was all
going wrong and he had been out for a day.
SI
This needs sorting.

ACT 3. INT.FAMILY HOME. DAY

SI wakes up with Sarah next to her and all has be forgotten,
he is calm and Sarah has enjoyed a good day at work.
SI
Are you worried about EMILY?
SARAH
Im always worried about her, but
she has her own life.
SI
I know that, but we cant let her
slowly kill herself
SARAH
Dont say that.
SI
Shes with a well known drug dealer
whos dealing across the country.
SARAH
All will be fine, just let her get
on with it, you lived your own life
and she has the right to live hers
SI
Im going to fuck this geezer up
EXT. ROADSIDE. DAY
SI drives to EMILYs block of flats in his blacked out
hummer, ROD gave him his address. ROD is already there and
he meets with SI.
SI
What one is it then?
ROD
I think its that one
ROD points towards a flat on the top floor
SI
You sure?
ROD

ROD
Ive been standing here for 3 hours
you mug, It just looks like it
should be the one.

ACT 4. FLATS. DAY

SI walks up to the flats and ROD stays back at the Car as
they dont want to make too much of a scene. SI reaches flat
53, the one that Rod had pointed too. SI knocks the door
once and doesnt receive an answer. He then hears screams
from within the flat and knocks again.
SI
Let me in.
MICHAEL
You can fuck off
SI
Let me in.
MICHAEL
Try it.
SI kicks the door down and sprints to where he hears the
noise from.
MICHAEL
What are you doing? These are my
ends, I seriously wouldnt.
SI
Your ends? Can you hear yourself?
MICHAEL
She has her own life, shes with me
and she loves me
EMILY
Dad, please just go, youre making
things worse
EMILY is laying on the floor bleeding and curled up against
the wall
SI
What do you mean? Look at the state
of you.

EMILY
(SHOUTING)
Youve made this worse!
SI
Me? Look at this cretin finding it
funny to beat women
MICHAEL runs at SI with his fists clenched
MICHAEL goes to hit SI but SI throws the punch first and
catches MICHAEL straight in the chin. He falls and smashes
his head against the work top. MICHAEL is laying on the
floor bleeding from the head.
EMILY
(SCREAMING)
Dad
SI
Leave the fucker there, thats a
taste of his own medicine
EMILY
Dad, hes dying?
SI
Good, leave him, come with me
EMILY
Dad, you dont know what youre
doing
SI picks up EMILY and carries her away, she is bleeding and
crying, SI runs down the flats stairs and to RODs car. They
drive away
INT. FAMILY HOME. DAY
EMILY has been given her old room and settled there after
the previous nights antics. SI went to sleep knowing his
daughter was safe but was awoken with blue flashing lights
outside. SI walks downstairs and opens the door to two armed
policeman.
SI
Morning guvnors
POLICE OFFICERS
Simon Paul Davis, you are under
arrest

SI, we believe you were responsible
for the murder of a 22 year old
male last night, you are under
arrest
SI
Murdered someone? Are you mad, all
I done last night was go and visit
my daughter
POLICE OFFICERS
You went to visit your daughter?
Was her boyfriend there?
SI
Yes he was
POLICE OFFICERS
Did you touch him at all
SI
Yes, I punched him in the face,
hes a women beating drug dealing
piece of scum
POLICE OFFICERS
Simon, he died last night after
severe bleeding
The POLICE OFFICERS arrest SIMON and says his goodbyes to
EMILY, TEDDY and SARAH. He is taken to the police car and
asked to sit in the back. EMILY AND SARAH see SI and tears
roll down their face as they look through the upstairs
window.
