Set Induction: Create interest.

1. Can someone tell me a pasta?
2. Can someone tell me a vegetable?
3. Can someone tell me a fruit?
4. Can someone tell me something with protein?
Learnable Piece: Today were going to gather cards to
indicate a daily general amount of the different food
groups. We will need something to write with. We will
also learn how to safely use the scooters.
Presentation of New Material/Directions:
1. Lets first split into three teams. Count off for me,
holding your number high and proud. (Identify the
order by saying alphabetical by first name)
2. When I say go, walk to the sideline and sit down
in a straight line behind the two starting lines.
3. Hand out nutrition sheet of their goal.
4. Each team will use a scooter to ride down and
pick up one of the cards. The person will then ride
back with their item. The goal is to have enough
cards to fill the minimum daily amount of each
item.

5. If they need the card, then they keep it and the

next person rides down. If you dont need it, the
next person takes it back and grabs a new card.
6. When one team believes they have all the cards
the need, they yell healthy nutrition! Teacher will
then double check to make sure they met the
criteria, and if so, they win!!
