"Winter Sonata" Korean actor Park Yong Ha, dead at 33

Singer and Actor Park Yong-Ha has died at the age of 33. Early reports say that he committed
suicide.

His mother found him in his room hanging with a mobile charger cord hanging around his neck
at around 5:30 AM [KST] of June 30 in his home in Seoul. He was then rushed to a nearby
hospital but was declared dead upon arrival.

One of his friends had told reporters that the singer/actor has suffered from depression. Mainly
due to his fathers' illness and the establishment of his own entertainment company.

Park was known by Filipinos with his character in KBS2's Hit Series "Winter Sonata" which was
aired on GMA-7. He is also the male lead actor in SBS's Drama "On-air".

CLOSE FRIENDS SHOCKED WITH HIS DEATH


Relatives and close friends came in to his wake. Some of his friends were still in shock ,claiming
that they didn't noticed anything wrong from him days before he died.

Park Shi Yeon,his co-star in his last drama "A Man's story" claimed that they had a normal
conversation on the phone the day before his death. June 29.

So Ji-Sub,park's close friend came in to the fumeral at Around 10:20 AM KST. He said that he
felt so sorry about his sudden death.

Actress Yoon Eun-Hye was also seen in the funeral. Park, along with Yoon,was included in the
cast of an upcoming Korean drama remake of a popular Hong Kong movie.

OVERWHELMING RESPONSE
Netizens (short for Internet Citizens) were also surprised with the news. As of this time, there
were about 1,000 Blog articles posted on Naver.com, just hours after his death.

Non-Koreans also mourn his death, saying that the Korean Entertainment Industry has lost a
great and dedicated actor.

"This is just… awful. Horrible and unexpected. Currently they are not ruling this as a suicide, but
that’s the foremost presumption, " said javabeans from the Popular Dramabeans website.
