Invitation and Envelope

Materials

 2 sheets of heavyweight paper


 Scissors or X-ACTO knife
 Metal-edged ruler
 Butter knife
 Cutting mat (optional)
 Adobe Reader Software

Instructions

1. Load one sheet of 8.5" x 11" paper into your printer.


2. Customize your invitation by typing in the spaces provided. Or, if you prefer to handwrite them,
highlight and delete the sample text.
3. Since this is a two-sided project, you’ll need to print each side one at a time. The instructions
below explain how to re-insert your pages for double-sided printing.
4. From the Invite PDF, click on the Print icon or select Print from the File menu. From the dialog
box:
o Set Page Scaling to None.
o Check the Auto-Rotate and Center box.
5. Click the Properties button. You’ll do several things here:
o Set Print Quality to Best.
o Set Paper Type to match the paper you’re using.
o Set Paper Size to Letter (8.5" x 11").
o Set Paper Source to Main tray.
o Set Orientation to Portrait.

NOTE: These directions are for a newer model printer. Where you find these fields will depend on your
printer.

6. Set page range at "1 to 1" and print. Set aside to dry completely.
7. To print the back side, put the page back into printer exactly as it came out. Set page range at "2
to 2" and print.
8. TIP: To make your invitations look sea-worn, crinkle them slightly before placing in envelope.
9. Now it’s time to print your envelope. From the envelope PDF repeat steps 4 through 7.
10. Cut out envelope on solid lines, including mark on lower flap.
11. Score: Run the back side of a butter knife firmly along dotted lines.
12. Fold flaps inward. Place invitation inside and seal by inserting the top of the envelope flap into the
cut on the bottom flap.

Pirate Hat

Materials

 2 or more sheets of heavyweight paper


 Scissors or X-ACTO knife
 Cutting mat (optional)
 Multipurpose glue

Instructions

5. Set page range. To print the front and back sides of hat, set page range as "1 to 2."
6. Select OK and print your pages. Set aside to dry completely.
7. To print the other side, place the dry pages into the printer exactly as they came out. Set the page
range at "3 to 3" and set the number of prints at "2." Select OK and print pages. Allow to dry
completely.
8. Using scissors or an X-ACTO knife and cutting mat, cut out hat pieces on solid lines.
9. With printed sides facing outward, glue tabs of back piece to the inside of front piece. Allow to dry
completely.
10. Measure hat to child’s head. If needed, make a cut in the center of the hat’s back piece, add
extender piece to fit, and glue in place.

Eye Patch

Materials

 2 or more sheets of heavyweight paper

Instructions

2. Print the Assembly, Masts & Supports, and Bow & Flags PDFs by clicking on the Print icon or
select Print from the File menu. From the dialog box:
o Set Page Scaling to None.
o Check the Auto-Rotate and Center box.
3. Click the Properties button. You’ll do several things here:
o Set Print Quality to Best.
o Set Paper Type to match the paper you're using.
o Set Paper Size to Letter (8.5" x 11").
o Set Paper Source to Main tray.
o Set Orientation to Portrait.

4. Select OK and print your pages. Set aside to dry completely.

9. From the Sails PDF, set page range at "1 to 1" and print. Set aside to dry completely.
10. To print the other side, place the dry page into the printer exactly as it came out. Set the page
range at "2 to 2" and print. Set aside to dry completely.
11. For assembly, see instructions included in artwork.

printing.

o Check the Auto-Rotate and Center box.

Banner

Materials

 3 or more sheets of heavyweight paper

 Hole punch
 Ribbon, string, or twine
 Adobe Reader Software

Instructions

1. Load the 8.5" x 11" paper into your printer.


2. For the lettered pennants, edit the triangle with the
first letter you would like to use in your banner. Or,
highlight the "X" and hit delete.
3. From the project PDF, click on the Print icon or select
Print from the File menu. From the dialog box:
o Set Page Scaling to None.
o Check the Auto-Rotate and Center box.
4. Set Page range. Since this is a two-sided project,
you’ll need to print each side one at a time. The
instructions below explain how to re-insert your page
for double-sided printing.
5. Click the Properties button. You’ll do several things
here:
o Set Print Quality to Best.
o Set Paper Type to match the paper you’re
using.
o Set Paper Size to Letter (8.5" x 11").
o Set Paper Source to Main tray.
o Set Orientation to Portrait.

9. Continue this process until you’ve printed all of the
letters of your banner.
10. Place the two-sided artwork on the cutting mat. Use
the X-ACTO knife and cutting mat or scissors to cut
out the banner pieces.
11. Punch holes on either side of the pennants and string
together with the skull and crossbones pennants on
the ends.
