A thousand miles lie between

Two hearts dropped on the ground.

The light that occupied the scene’s
Now gone without a sound.

A dark patch remains left behind

Of sorrow and despair.
Just two lost souls trying to find
The lost half of their pair.

But sadly each has gone amiss,

Like one extinguished flame.
When there’s no warmth in every kiss,
Ourselves are whom we blame.

The laughter has faded away,

Leaving a trail of tears.
The coldness with each passing day
Feels like a million spears

All piercing down into my veins,

Ripping my soul to shreds.
The lost half’s been washed out by rain.
Without it I am dead.
