When you first come into class…
Look at the board for any special directions.
Get out your math journal and label it with today’s
date.
Begin working on the D.O.M.
Open your binder to the first clean sheet of
paper behind your MATH tab and label it with
today’s
assignment.
If you finish, get your flash cards and begin
studying
quietly… by yourself.
D.O.M.
The Daily Oral Math will be a review of things you
have previously learned in math, either in an earlier
grade, or earlier in the school year.

Don‘t give up if you think you can’t do the problems.

If your not sure what a word means, look it up in the

glossary in the back of your book…. HELP
YOURSELF OUT…. DON’T WAIT FOR ME OR A
FRIEND TO JUST GIVE YOU THE ANSWERS! 
Homework
You will have math homework EVERY night of the
week EXCEPT Friday’s.

You should have time to complete the homework

during your Exploratory Class.

Math homework should be kept behind the math tab.

If you don’t keep your homework in the right place,

you will not be able to find it when the time comes to
check it in class.
Multiplication

Bottom Line….
YOU MUST KNOW YOUR
MULTIPLICATION FACTS!
(this is NOT an option)
Multiplication

Each week we’ll have a timed quiz…..

WHY?
~ It’s that important… EVERYTHING you learn in math this
year will build off of knowing your multiplication facts!

~ Each week we are going to add to your flash cards. You will
need to have these in your binder AT ALL TIMES. Anytime
you finish your work in math… or another class, you may get
these out and study them (unless your teacher already has
something else for you to do).
When Your Absent
We’ll miss you bunches when your absent…. BUT
we’ll still have class…. So if you’re absent you
HAVE TO ASK WHAT YOU MISSED! You’ll be
able to borrow my notes from class.

When do I ask? You can check with me when you

first come into class OR come back during
Exploratory class and I will help catch you up! 
I’m Here to Help
I can’t help you if you don’t ask questions or let me
know you are having a hard time.

Don’t be afraid… I wasn’t that good at math when I

was your age either… and look at me now! 
