In my current role I am involved in direct contact with offenders
attending Probation for a variety of reasons some of them can exhibit very challenging behaviour at times that requires patience and tact to manage. I also have contact with many people from outside agencies i.e. the police. I also have to be very organised and efficient in dealing with people in a timely and professional manner and being able to deal with ‘crises’ that develop at times either with the clients or within the building as a whole. I have a good telephone manner and am able to deal with any enquiries with courtesy and in a helpful manner. I also undertake a variety of administrative tasks letter writing, filing arranging appointments at prisons or via video link up. I also have responsibility for petty cash issuing fares to clients and recording it accurately on Microsoft Access.
