In the context of the recent allegations broadcast by Andrew Gilligan on

the today programme which directly concern the JIC and the Intelligence
community, the Ministry of Defence has asked me to pass you the name
of the individual who has volunteered that he met Andrew Gilligan on 22
May as detailed in the MoD statement of 8 July. I attach a copy.

The individual concerned is David Kelly, adviser to the Proliferation and

Arms Control Secretariat in MoD.

I understand that David Kelly's name is now known to the media and will
be published tomorrow .
