Comparison of 3 BBC reporters account of conversation with DK

In its defence of Andrew Gilligan's report of his conversation with Dr Kelly,

the BBC have said Dr Kelly was also the principle source for Susan Watt's
reports on Newsnight on 2"a and 4th June . Dr Kelly confirmed to the FAC
he had only met Susan Watts once in November 2002 (but not on a one-to-
one basis) and had spoken to her on the phone since. It has also been
suggested that Dr Kelly was the source of Gavin Hewitts's report on the 10
o'clock News on 29`h May, although Dr Kelly told the FAC he was `pretty
sure' he had not met or spoken to Gavin Hewitt.

The BBC claim the other reports are similar to AG's and therefore
corroborate the story .

Assuming Dr Kelly was the principle source for all three reporters, there are
six reports and one newspaper article which need to be examined :

291h May:
Andrew Gilligan on the Today programme 0607
Andrew Gilligan on the Today programme 0732
Andrew Gilligan on Radio 5
Gavin Hewitt on BBC 10 News

1 June
Andrew Gilligan writing in the Mail on Sunday

2"d June
Susan Watts on Newsnight

4th June
Susan Watts on Newsnight

This attached examines the reports in question for

1) the points of broad agreement between AG,S W and GH - and whether

these match what DK told the FAC
2) m which ways the AG report went beyond this consensus
