UPEISU Council,

As all of you know, a motion to impeach President Chelsea Perry was made
anonymously on March 19th, 2018. Although I did not put forward the motion myself, I agreed
to being CC’d into the email saying that I support the motion. The original statement released by
the UPEISU was not transparent, leaving lots of room for the public to fill in gaps and make
assumptions about the people who supported the motion/put it forward.

To my knowledge, the allegations against President Chelsea Perry were not shocking to
the employees of the UPEISU. The UPEISU employees had received these complaints prior to
the letter being released to council and did not follow the proper procedure to deal with these
complaints, essentially dismissing them. The UPEISU continues to ignore complaints and not
follow the procedure as described in the UPEISU Policy. This has caused myself to be
increasingly frustrated with how situations are handled at the UPEISU. Councillors concerns are
disregarded by the UPEISU.

I standby the allegations made against the President. After the report is given by the
Ombudsperson, if the UPEISU decides to support the actions of the outgoing President, then the
UPEISU is not an organization I can support. It is simply not my values.

I apologize that the UPEISU has not been transparent about this situation.. I am taking
the initiative to be transparent in this matter now. If council chooses to put a motion forward to
impeach those involved including myself, the UPEISU is saying that they will take punitive
action against councillors for holding executives accountable. If this is the case, after two years
serving on this council, please give me the opportunity to respectfully resign from the
organization. Thank you.

I encourage those with questions to email me at healthwellness@upeisu.ca and I will do

my best to answer them.
