Vilas S Shah
He is a mechanical engineer with M.Tech. (Industrial Engineering and Operations
research) from I.I.T.(Mumbai). He is also a certified energy auditor (certification by
Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Gov. of India). He has done consultancy projects in energy
audit, productivity improvement, work place automation and total productive
maintenance areas. His current interests are Supply chain management, Project
Management, waste minimization, renewable energy solutions for industrial applications,
productivity improvement, and operations research applications in business.

His earlier assignments include:

o Energy Audit at a spinning mill in Maharashtra – The spinning mill was awarded
2nd prize by state government for its energy conservation efforts
o Development of virtual production monitoring system for R.M. Chemicals, a 3p
company of Hindusthan Unilever

His Current assignments are:

• Developing Project monitoring systems for high risk research projects

• Implementation of a project using critical chain management
• Waste minimization circle for Sponge Iron industry and Rolling Mill

2. B.V.N. Sachendra
He is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering, M.B.A. (University Topper), and holds a
Diploma in Software Technology. He has more than 11 years of work experience, which
includes corporate as well as academic. While working as Engineer (Purchase), he was
responsible for Vendor Development, Supplier Selection, Material Procurement and
Follow Up. After completing his Masters’ in Business Administration, he started his
academic career as Research Associate and was responsible for developing
comprehensive case studies, study materials including textbooks and workbook on
Operations Management and other Books of Reading meant for students of MBA. He has
over 9 years of teaching and training experience during which he taught courses on
Operations Management, Total Quality Management, Supply Chain Management, Project
Management to PGDBM students in B-Schools of high repute. In addition, he was also
proactive in developing, designing and delivering Executive Development Programmes
and Management Development Programmes. He has nine papers to his credit, out of
which three were presented at international level.
