medicines to kill disease- causing pathogens.

carried out to remove or replaced the tissue
that infected by the pathogens.

• Antibiotics are chemical substances that are
extracted from living microorganisms such as
bacteria and fungi
• Antibiotics are able to kill bacteria or slow
down their bacteria growth without causing
harm to body cells
• Example penicillin extracted from the fungus

• Antibiotics can not be used to cure a disease
that caused by virus
Antiserum
• Is blood serum which contains specific
antibodies obtained from animals to provide
humans with immunity for specific disease.
• An example is the antiserum for tetanus and
rabies (mad dog disease)

• It is harmful to take drugs such as antibiotics
without the advice and prescription from a
doctor because drugs usually have side effects
• It is important to follow the dosage and time
frame instructed by the doctor when taking
antibiotics for it to be effective in curing a
