Thank you for your leadership on the Appropriations Committee.

I am requesting funding for the Bay Area Regional Interoperable Communications System
(BayRICS) in fiscal year 2010. The entity to receive funding for this project is the San Francisco
Department of Emergency Management, located at 1011 Turk Street, San Francisco, CA 94102.
The funding would be used to create a wireless voice and data communications system allowing
public safety officials across the entire Bay Area to communicate seamlessly during a disaster. I
certify that neither I nor my spouse has any financial interest in this project.

Thank you for your consideration of this request. I look forward to working with you as the
appropriations process moves forward.
