Statement of the Concerned Burmese People in Las Vegas

Re: Wyne Su Khine Thein’s Visit and Meeting with some members of Burmese
Community in Las Vegas

1. As most of you might aware that there is a controversy about whether to welcome
Wyne Su Khine Thein and other singers from Burma. Although it is a personal choice for
individual, there is some facts need to aware for those who want to welcome and attend
on meeting with them. Wyne Su Khine Thein participates in “Lotus at Dawn” or “Arr
yone Oo Hmar Phwe Thee Kyar”, a film is intended to propagate the regime’s policy and
tarnish Burma’s ongoing democracy movement. While the military-controlled election in
Burma is approaching, the regime, again, is doing everything in their capacity to deceive
the Burmese people and international community.

2. It is obvious that this film seeks to misrepresent our peaceful pro-democracy

movement, conceal the suffering of ethnic nationalities and distort the history of Burma,
while at the same time exonerating them from their horrific crimes that they have long
committed against humanity. More importantly, we deplored all the Burmese actors and
actresses who agreed to take part in this movie. We regretfully consider them
collaborators of the regime’s despicable lies, and thus are convinced that these
individuals should not be welcomed in Las Vegas and in the United States and other
countries where Burmese Diasporas communities currently reside.

3. For more clarification, we will do with questions and answers style debate.

Q. Wyne Su is just an actress and she has to do whatever regime asked her to do.
Shouldn’t we understand?

A. If you are willing to reject and stand for the people, it must have a way to
choose not to participate in such films. There are still some celebrities who do not
cooperate and stand for people such as Ko Kyaw Thu, Ko Zarganar, U Tun Wai
and the IC band led by singer Lay Phyu, Myo Gyi and others.

(Rationale: Soldiers who killed the monks in Saffron revolution could also excuse
that they just follow their orders.)

Q. She is just a celebrity. Why should we protest her?

A. Nowadays, Celebrities are role models for younger generations and they live
under the watchful eyes of those youngsters. By protesting her with media, those
youngsters and other celebrities inside Burma receive the clear message of the
protests for cooperating with the world most brutal regime. People know more
 about celebrities than politicians. It is also a serious warning for those potential
celebrities and collaborators.

Q. Why don’t we protest inside Burma and why in U.S?

A. It is obvious that we are now living in democratic country in which we can

express our dissidents while the people of Burma are unable to do so due to the
regime’s brutal crackdown. It is our duty to express where we stand. Justice or
Injustice?

Q. Shouldn’t we let it pass?

A. Of course not. It is a serious policy issue. Once our Burmese community in

Las Vegas express solidarity with others around the world in Saffron revolution
and Nargis, it is our time again to stand up for the justice and express our voice
to the people inside Burma that we are always on the right side of the people who
sacrifice their lives for the better Burma.

Q. We do not understand politics and we don’t want to participate?

A. Again, it is your choice. If you don’t stand for justice right now, when someone
did unjust thing to you, you would also have no help.

Therefore, we strongly urge our members of Burmese community in Las Vegas not to
attend such meeting and spend our dollars for those regime’s collaborators and should
just welcome only people celebrities’ such as “Thee lay Thee”. Thank you

၁။ ယခုအခ်ိန္အခါတြင္ အေမရိကန္ျပည္ေထာင္စု တ၀ွမ္းရွိ ျမန္မာအသိုင္းအ၀ိုင္းမ်ားၾကားတြင္ ၀ုိင္းစုခုိင္သိန္း

ႏွင့္အဖြဲ႕ကုိ ႀကိဳဆိုေရး မႀကိဳဆိုေရးႏွင့္ပတ္သက္၍ အျငင္းပြားလ်က္ရွိၾကပါသည္။ ၄င္းကိစၥသည္
လူတစ္ဦးတစ္ေယာက္၏ ကုိယ္ပုိင္ေရြးခ်ယ္ခြင့္ျဖစ္ေသာ္လည္း ကၽြန္ေတာ္တို႔အေနႏွင့္ ျပတ္ျပတ္သားသား
ကန္႔ကြက္ေၾကာင္း ေၾကျငာအပ္ပါသည္။ ၀ုိင္းစုခုိင္သိန္းသည္ အျခား အႏုပညာရွင္မ်ားႏွင့္အတူ
ျမန္မာစစ္အာဏာရွင္မ်ား၏ သမုိင္းအမွန္ကုိ လိမ္ညာ၍ ၀ါဒါျဖန္႔ ရုိက္ကူးထားေသာ “အာရုဏ္ဦးမွာ
ဖူးသည့္ၾကာ” ဇာတ္ကားတြင္ ပါ၀င္သရုပ္ေဆာင္ထားပါသည္။

၂။ ကၽြန္ေတာ္တို႔အေနႏွင့္ ၀ုိင္းစုခုိင္သိန္းအား ပုဂၢိဳလ္ေရးအရ မေက်နပ္စရာ မရွိေသာ္လည္း သူမ၏

စစ္အာဏာရွင္မ်ားႏွင့္ ပူးေပါင္းလုပ္ေဆာင္မႈအား ျပတ္သားစြာ ကန္႔ကြက္ရႈံ႕ခ်လိုက္ပါသည္။ “အာရုဏ္ဦးမွာ
ဖူးသည့္ၾကာ” ဇာတ္ကားသည္ ၁၉၇၅ ဦးသန္႔ စ်ာပနအေရးအခင္း၊ ရဟန္းရွင္လူ ျပည္သူမ်ား အသက္ေပး
စေတးသြားေသာ ၈၈၈၈ အေရးေတာ္ပံုႏွင့္ ဒီမိုကေရစီနည္းက် ေရြးေကာက္ပြဲအား ပ်က္ရယ္ျပဳ ေသးသိမ္
ေအာင္ ရည္ရြယ္၍ စစ္အာဏာရွင္တုိ႔၏ စိတ္ဓါတ္ စစ္ဆင္ေရးဌာနမွ စနစ္တက် စီမံရုိက္ကူးထားေသာ
ဇာတ္ကားျဖစ္သည္။

၃။ ယခုအခါ ၀ုိင္းစုခုိင္သိန္းႏွင့္အဖြဲ႕ သြားေရာက္ေဖ်ာ္ေျဖရာ အေမရိကန္ၿမိဳ႕မ်ားရွိ ျမန္မာမ်ား၏

ကန္႔ကြက္သံမ်ားကုိလည္း RFA, BBC, DVB ႏွင့္ Internet စာမ်က္ႏွာမ်ားမွတဆင့္ ၾကားသိလ်က္
ရွိၾကပါသည္။ ကၽြန္ေတာ္တို႔ Las Vegas ျမန္မာမိသားစု အသိုင္းအ၀ုိင္းအေနႏွင့္ အေမရိကန္ရွိ ျမန္မာမ်ားႏွင့္
အျခားႏုိင္ငံမ်ားရွိ ျမန္မာမ်ားႏွင့္လက္တြဲ၍ ေရြ၀ါေရာင္ သံဃာအေရးအခင္းႏွင့္ နာဂစ္ေလမုန္တုိင္း
ကူညီေရးမ်ားတြင္ ေသြးစည္းညီညြတ္စြာ လက္တြဲကူညီ ေဆာင္ရြက္ခ့ၾဲ ကသည္။ ယခုအခ်ိန္တြင္လည္း
ကၽြန္ေတာ္တို႔ Las Vegas ျမန္မာမိသားစု အသိုင္းအ၀ိုင္းမွ ျပတ္သားစြာ ကန္႔ကြက္သံကုိ ျမန္မာျပည္တြင္းရွိ
ျပည္သူမ်ားႏွင့္ အျခားႏုိင္ငံမ်ားရွိ ျမန္မာမ်ားအား ၾကားသိ ေစလိုပါသည္။

၄။ ဤကိစၥကုိ ယခုထက္ရွင္းလင္းစြာ ပိုမိုသိရွိႏုိင္ရန္ ေဆြးေႏြးပြဲပံုစံျဖင့္ ရွင္းလင္းတင္ျပလုိက္ပါသည္။

ေမး ၀ုိင္းစုခုိင္သိန္းအား “သာမန္အႏုပညာရွငတ

္ စ္ေယာက္ပဲ၊ စစ္အာဏာေတြခုိင္းရင္ ဘယ္လို
ျငင္းလို႔ရမွာလဲ”

ေျဖ ကၽြန္ေတာ္တုိ႔အေနႏွင့္ လက္မခံႏုိင္ပါ။ အျခားျပည္သူ႕ဘက္ေတာ္သား အႏုပညာရွင္

မ်ားျဖစ္ေသာ ကုိဇာဂနာ၊ ကုိေက်ာ္သူ၊ ဦးထြန္းေ၀၊ IC အဖြဲ႕ႏွင့္ အဆိုေတာ္မ်ားျဖစ္ေသာ ေလးျဖဴ၊
မ်ိဳးႀကီးႏွင့္ အျခားအႏုပညာရွင္မ်ားသည္ စစ္အာဏာရွင္မ်ားႏွင့္ မပူးေပါင္းပဲ နည္းမ်ိဳးစံုျဖင့္
ျငင္းပယ္ကာ ျပည္သူ႕ဘက္က ရပ္တည္လ်က္ ရွိၾကပါသည္။

ေမး ကၽြန္ေတာ္တို႔ အႏုပညာရွင္တစ္ေယာက္ကုိ ဆန္႔က်င္ကန္႔ကြက္လုိ႔ ဘာအက်ိဳးရွိမွာလဲ

ေျဖ ယခုအခါတြင္ အခုပညာရွင္မ်ားသည္ ငယ္ရြယ္ေသာ လူငယ္မ်ိဳးဆက္မ်ားႏွင့္ ျပည္သူလူထုမွာ

အစဥ္ေစာင့္ၾကည့္ျခင္းခံေနရသည္။ အခ်ိဳ႕လူငယ္မ်ားသည္ ၄င္းတုိ႔အား အတုယူမႈမ်ား ရွိေနသည္။
ထုိမ်ိဳးဆက္သစ္ လူငယ္မ်ားႏွင့္ အျခားျပည္သူမ်ား အေနျဖင့္ ၀ုိင္းစုခုိင္သိန္းတုိ႔လို စစ္အာဏာရွင္
၀ါဒျဖန္႔ အႏုပညာရွင္မ်ား၏ လုပ္ရပ္ကုိ ႏုိင္ငံ တကာတြင္ ကန္႔ကြက္ခံေနရေၾကာင္း
သိေစခ်င္ပါသည္။ ၄င္းအႏုပညာရွင္မ်ားအားလည္း ကန္႔ကြက္ျခင္းျဖင့္ လမ္းအမွန္ေရာက္ေအာင္
၀ုိင္း၀န္းတည့္မတ္ႏုိင္ခြင့္ရွိပါသည္။ အမွန္ ဆိုရေသာ္ ႏုိင္ငံေရးသမားေတြထက္
အႏုပညာရွင္မ်ားကုိ ပုိမုိ၍ လူသိမ်ားႏုိင္ပါသည္။ ထုိ႔ေၾကာင့္ အႏုပညာရွင္မ်ားသည္
ျပည္သူ႕ဘက္ကရပ္တည္၍ စံျပျဖစ္ေအာင္ က်ိဳးစား ေနထုိင္လုပ္ကုိင္ၾကရန္ တာ၀န္ရွိပါသည္။
မိမိကုိယ္က်ိဳးထက္ ျပည္သူ႕မ်က္ႏွာကုိ ပုိမို ၾကည့္သင့္ပါသည္။

ျမန္မာျပည္တြင္းရွိ ျပည္သူလူထုသည္ စစ္အာဏာရွင္မ်ား၏ လူမဆန္စြာ ဖိႏွိပ္မႈေၾကာင့္
ကၽြန္ေတာ္တုိ႔လုိ ရဲ၀င့္စြာ မိမိတုိ႔ရင္တြင္းရွိ ဆႏၵမ်ားကုိ ေဖာ္ထုတ္ႏုိင္ရန္ အခြင့္ေရးမရရွိႏုိင္ၾကပါ။
ဒါေၾကာင့္ ဒီျပည္သူေတြကုိယ္စားႏွင့္ ဒီမိုကေရစီႏွင့္ တရားမွ်တ မႈကုိ လုိလားေသာ
ယံုၾကည္ခ်က္ေၾကာင့္ အခုလုိ ကန္႕ကြက္ရျခင္း ျဖစ္ပါတယ္။

ေမး ကၽြန္ေတာ္တုိ႔ ႏုိင္ငံေရးကုိ စိတ္မ၀င္စားပါ။ ဒီကိစၥမ်ိဳးမွာ ၾကားေနလို႔ မသိခ်င္ေယာင္ေဆာင္ ေနလို႔

ေျဖ တရားမွ်တမႈႏွင့္ ပတ္သက္လာရင္ ၾကားေန၍မရပါ။ ထုိ႔အတူ မသိခ်င္ေယာင္ ေဆာင္ျခင္း

သည္လည္း မတရားမႈမ်ားကုိ အားေပးျခင္းျဖစ္သည္။ ဥပမာ လမ္းသြားေနေသာ
လူတစ္ေယာက္ကုိ အျခားလူတစ္ေယာက္မွ လူယက္အႏုိင္က်င့္ ေျခာက္လွန္႔ေနပါက
မိမိအေနျဖင့္လည္း အႏုိင္က်င့္ခံရသူဘက္မွ ၀င္ေရာက္ကူညီသင့္သည္။ မိမိႏွင့္မဆိုင္ပါဘူး

ျပည္သူမ်ားဘက္မွ မားမားမတ္မတ္ရပ္တည္၍ အာဏာရွင္မ်ားကုိအန္တုကာ ျပည္သူကုိကူညီေနေသာ
ကုိေက်ာ္သူ၊ ကုိဇာဂနာႏွင့္ အျခားေသာ အႏုပညာရွင္မ်ားထံသို႔ ပံ့ပုိးကူညီျခင္း သည္သာလွ်င္
အသင့္ေတာ္ဆံုးျဖစ္သည္ဟု ေလးနက္စြာယံုၾကည္မိပါသည္။
