Jeddah Will Have World's Tallest Tower

DUBAI - Saudi Arabian company, Kingdom Holding Co., plans to build world's tallest tower
as part of projects worth 75 billion riyals in the city of Jeddah, a newspaper reported
Thursday. Alsharq Al-Awsat newspaper, quoting members of the royal family, Prince
Alwaleed bin Talal, said the company will officially announce the project at a press conference
in three weeks.This skyscraper will be the center of the mix project that will stretch more than
3.5 million square meters in breadth, the newspaper added.
He also said the Kingdom Holding other plans of development in the capital city of Riyadh
with a total investment estimated to 25 billion riyals. This will include a park, hotels, and other
entertainment elements, as well as 10 thousand housing units.Kingdom Holding is an
investment company owned by billionaire Saudi prince, who recorded 52.6 percent increase in
third-quarter earnings on Monday, driven by higher investment returns. The company is 95
percent owned by the nephew of the Saudi ruler, King Abdullah and has a minority stake in
some of the world’s top companies, including Citygroup The tallest building in the world today
is the 828-meter Burj Dubai Khalifa, developed by Emaar Properties.
