When speaking about best friends, there are not many choices that come to my mind.
My best friend is one of my schoolmates. I met her 8 years ago on my first day of school in
the fifth grade. I remember it was a sunny September day when our mothers introduced us,
because they already knew each other.

When we first met, we didnȔt speak much because we didnȔt know each other, but
after a while we discovered that we liked the same things and that our personalities are
similar. I think this is why we became such good friends.

If someone asked me how she looks like, I would say she is very pretty. She is not
very tall but not short either, she has black hair andbrown eyes. She doesn't like to dress up
so I usually see her wearing jeans and a T-shirt or a sweater; her style is not unusual or
strange.

It seems like she and I are always talking or laughing about something. She has a
pleasant personality and a wonderful sense of humor but she can also get a little depressed
from time to time. We get along very well and I can always count on her to be honest and to
give me the best advice. At school we help each other if we get confused about a difficult
homework assignment.

As for our free time activities, I can say that w e are interested in many of the same
hobbies. We both enjoy music, playing computer games and watching movies. We like going
to the cinema but sometimes we can't agree on which movie to see. Sometimes we just go
shopping. We also like nature, animals and t ravelling. Whatever we're doing, it's always fun
to hang out with her.

I know I can rely on her. Even when our lives get busy, weȔll still make time to see
each other. We are lucky that we are best friends and I hope that our friendship will continue
and be just as strong after we graduate from high school.

The whole world is moving, so we have to keep up. Every day people need to go between
different places to do their daily activities.

Thanks to latest improvements in technology, nowadays we have a great variety of means

of transport to choose between. Means of transports are associated with one͛s need. For example
there is a great difference between Beijing͛s means of transport that is well -known for its bicycles
and those that can be found in New York where everybody drives at least a car.

From my point of view it͛s good to be a bit conservative. I travel by different means of
transport, but if I were to choose only one mean s of transport I think I would say that t he bike is my
favouriteone. I know that it may seem a silly choice but there are many arguments that make the
bike an ideal means of transport.

Firstly, bike can successfully fulfill someone͛s daily needs. If you don͛t live far from school or
work, using the bike is a good way to get there.

I got my first bike when I was eight and since then I have had one more. I will always
remember my first rides, because I was very clumsy and insecure, and I fell over and hurt myself
countless times. Since then I have learned to ride really well and it has never happened to fall and
hurt myself after I got my second bicycle. Now I use it when I go with my family in the forest or
when we have a picnic.

Secondly,I have a ͞green͟ way of thinking.I try to protect the nature or at least not to harm
it more so that the bike appears like a perfect way to protect the environment. It doesn͛t need gas
or batteries to work and it doesn͛t need special or costly maintenance .

For those who live in agglomerated cities, the bike is perfect to escape from agglomeration;
you will never be bothered by the rush hour .

The bike

         at a daily ride to
bike can protect us from heart diseases, problems of blood pressure and prevent other diseases. Not
to forget, the bike is also a cheap means of transport that don͛t need fuels to run,so almost
everybody can afford a bike.

On the other hand, bike can͛t always be an efficient means of transport especially for those
to have to go through a great distance.Or in many cities there are areas where bicycles͛ access is
not allowed and it is necessarily to use the car. Also, the weather is a problem. When it rains or
snows, I don͛t feel like getting all wet or froz en.

All in all, bike is an ideal means of transport to go through short distances, avoid stress and
agglomeration,to keep ͞green͟ and fit, or simply to release the mind.

Most people nowadays live in towns or cities, as there are better living conditions and they
have better chances of finding a job. However, there are many differences between towns and
cities, not only the size. For example, towns are less crowded than cities and more peaceful. On the
other hand, big cities have a better cultural, economic and social life.

There are a lot of people who would tell you that living in a small town is the best, but I
prefer living in a big city, just like many other people who hope to get a better job and a more
sophisticated way of living. There are many reasons for my choice. The main is that I have lived in a
village for my entire life and I know how it is to be far from school, work or othe r important events.
Even though living in a village where you can breathe fresh air, live in a safer environment is quite
pleasant, I would prefer to live in a big city after I finish a college.

First of all, it is much easier for people to find jobs in a big city. Although this means working
hard and having a chaotic lifestyle, in a big city is easier to give up an unpaid job and find a more
satisfying and challenging one. Furthermore, professionally speaking , you can always improve ʹ
there are prestigious universities you can go to and huge multinational companies you can get hired
and trained by. Some would say that living in a big city has a big price to be paid; the cities are
always busy, crowded and polluted, and living is very expensive.

Secondly, I like big cities because whenever you want to have a good time, you have several
places to choose from. You never get bored because every time you may select a different cinema,
museum or shopping center to go with your friends. And I love the fact that all the big concerts are
organized in the big city. There are so many places where someone can relax and have fun so that
there is always something exciting to do.

Not to mention that public transport, schools, hospitals and other services are easier to
access and far better than in small towns. Also, cities are modern places, where you can always get
well informed, keep in touch with your family and friends, and entertain yourself with the help of
the internet. Gadgets and latest inventions make their way through the city at a fast pace and you
can benefit from them at low cost and with little effort. You never feel isolated in such a place.

The air in big cities might not be the cleanest , there might be garbage thrown on the streets
and people might be meaner, but these things will not bother me much as long as I have such great
opportunities, better services and amazing places where I can spend my free time.
