HAND DELIVERY

Lower Merion School District Administration Building Attention: Ms. Fran Keaveney Board Secretary

301 E Lancaster Avenue Ardmore, PA 19003

Dear Ms. Keaveney:

Pursuant to the notice posted on the LMSD web site and as directed therein, I hereby respectfully submit to you my application as a candidate to fill the School Board vacancy.

I have attached my resume hereto, which contains all the information requested in the notice. In addition, my SO word responses to the required questions are submitted to you as follows:

• What are your three top reasons for desiring to serve on the Lower Merion School

District?

It is my duty and my DNA to give back to my community that has served my family so well, leverage my skills and experience to be highly impactful, and to set an example of the right thing to do for not only my peers, but also for my children.

• What are the three most important assets you will bring to the Board of the Lower

Merion School District?

I bring over 30 years of comprehensive operational, front-line business experience, highly relevant thought leadership in internet software and technology, and a sincere, proven and focused work ethic that is supported by organizational leadership skills learned from creating more than six businesses from scratch and more than 1000 jobs.

• What do you think is the single, most important issue facing public education

today?

It is incredibly shortsighted and counterproductive to believe that there is only one issue more important than any other. Education is a complex ecosystem of dynamic inter-dependencies that affects each stakeholder differently. That said, maximizing the positive engagement of ALL stakeholders would likely move many needles in the right direction.

Founder I Thought Leader at Famology LLC January 2008 -Present

Famology was conceived as a personal desire to design a secure, closed-loop social networking web platform and tools focused specifically on the needs and requirements of the family -actually, an "anti-social" network for just your family. With a primary focus on storytelling, Famology will facilitate the secure communication, collection and preservation of your family's history. This is an ongoing technical and social project that continues to evolve around the current state of social/cultural anthropology and web 2.0 initiatives. It is also a personally important and meaningful topic that continues to intrigue me daily.

Entrepreneur-in-Residence I The Wharton School October 2010 -October 2010

Co-Founder I Board member at Network Acquisition Company LLC (NAC) June 2008 -September 2010

In May 2008, I identified a unique community investment opportunity, led the formation of NAC and raised the funds necessary to acquire and gain control of the former EarthLink Philadelphia Wi-Fi network with the goal of keeping this valuable asset intact for the citizens and visitors of this region to utilize. In less than four weeks, under my guidance and leadership, NAC successfully concluded the high visibility, complex. tri-party transaction between the City of Philadelphia, EarthLink, and the not-for-profit, Wireless Philadelphia. The network offered fixed wireless PTP/PTMP broadband services to commercial customers in addition to wholesale backhaul services to carriers. NAC also provided a free "best efforts" community Wi-Fi offering that was exploring location-based advertising, sponsorships and revenue sharing with specialized consumer application providers. Most importantly, Local non-profit organizations including Wireless Philadelphia and Knight Foundation were able to continue to use the network to deliver their important work of education, training and digital inclusion for area residents. In September of 2010, NACs original goal was met when The City of Philadelphia completed its purchase of the network from NAC, allowing for what was the largest "hot-spot" in the world to stay in Philadelphia. 1 recommendation listed below
