FACE AIDS Fall Conference 2010: October 15-17

This is an annual event hosted by FACE AIDS National, which brings together FACE AIDS chapters from
across the nation. The event features an expert panel and guest speakers from our partner organizations
(Partners In Health, Human Rights Watch, etc.), as well as forums and discussions on issues of HIV/AIDS
and global health. It provides us an opportunity to meet other FACE AIDS members from across the
country, speak with FACE AIDS National one-on-one, and learn about ways to better lead our chapter at
UCSD. At FACE AIDS at UCSD, we publicize this event to all our members, and in the past, we’ve sent
about 4 people each year to the event.

We have attended this event for the last two years and have requested funding in the past to cover
transportation. Last year, there were no registration fees. However, beginning this year, a registration
fee of $20/person will be required. The event takes place at Stanford University and requires us to drive
from San Diego to Palo Alto and back. Therefore we require funding in concerns to registration and
transportation only. We (four members in total) will be carpooling together in one car (standard 4-door
sedan). Free lodging is provided to us in the San Jose area.
