STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM


A study of influence of stress coping skill and self confidence of higher secondary school teacher
on their teaching competence.

HYPOTHESES
1. There will be no significant relationship between teaching competence and stress coping skill
of higher secondary school teachers.

2. There will be no significant relationship between teaching competence and self confidence
of higher secondary school teachers.

3. There will be no significant relationship between stress coping skill and self confidence of
higher secondary school teachers.

4. Stress coping skill of government and non govt. school teachers of higher secondary school
would show no significant difference in their teaching competence.

5. There would be no significant difference in teaching competence with stress coping skill of
male and female of higher secondary teachers.

6. Self confidence of govt. and non govt. school teachers of higher sec. would show no
significant difference in their teaching competence.

7. There would be no significant difference in teaching competence with self confidence of male
and female higher secondary school teachers.

8. No significant difference exist in teaching competence and stress coping skill of male and
female teachers of govt. Higher Secondary School.

9. No significant difference exist in teaching competence and stress coping skill of male and
female teachers of non-govt. Higher Secondary School.

10. No significant difference exist in teaching competence and self confidence of male and
female teachers of Govt. Higher Secondary School.

11. No significant difference exist in teaching competence and self confidence of male and
female teachers of non-govt. Higher Secondary School.
12. The main and interactional effect between gender, govt. and non govt. school and stress
coping skill would show no significant difference in their teaching competence.

13. The main and interactional effect between gender, govt. and non govt. school and self
confidence would show no significant difference in their teaching competence.

14. Combined effect of stress coping skill and self confidence in predicting the percentage
variance of teaching competence would be more as compared to separate variance of male and
female teachers.

15. Combined effect of stress coping skill and self confidence in predicting the percentage
variance of teaching competence would be more as compared to separate variance of govt. and
non govt. school teachers.
