The point of a Peer Review is not to make your classmate feel good; it is to help
them improve their writing skills.
1. Begin the Peer Review by reading the essay completely. Mark any obvious
grammar or spelling errors in pencil.
2. What is the writer’s thesis or position sentence? Write the sentence below
and include any suggestions for improving this.
4. Does the writer give at least two different proofs for each reason? Does the
writer specifically cite documents provided for these proofs? Provide at least
two ideas on how the writer can better use the documents to make their
point.
5. Does the writer transition from idea to new idea well? Provide at least two
suggestions to improve transitions to make the essay easier to read.
7. Was the essay interesting? Provide at least three specific suggestions to the
writer that will make the essay more interesting to read.
