Preparing for

1. Gen 35:2 Then Jacob said unto his household, and to all that were with
him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and be clean, and
change your garments:
2. Jos 24:14 Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in
truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side
of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD.

3. 1 Samuel 7:3 And Samuel spake unto all the house of Israel, saying, If ye
do return unto the LORD with all your hearts, then put away the strange
gods and Ashtaroth (alse goddesses in the Canaanite religion, usually related to fertility cult) from
among you, and prepare your hearts unto the LORD, and serve him only:
and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.
4. 1 Kings 15:12 And he took away the sodomites out of the land, and
removed all the idols that his fathers had made.
5. 2 kings 3:2 And he wrought evil in the sight of the LORD; but not like his

father had made.
6. 2 Kings 23:24 Moreover the workers with familiar spirits, and the wizards,
and the images, and the idols, and all the abominations that were spied in
the land of Judah and in Jerusalem, did Josiah put away, that he might
perform the words of the law which were written in the book that Hilkiah
the priest found in the house of the LORD.

7. 2 Chron 15:8 And when Asa heard these words, and the prophecy of
Oded the prophet, he took courage, and put away the abominable (any

the LORD, that was before the porch of the LORD.
Romans 12:4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members
have not the same office:

another.

In a recent book on production evangelism it states:

80 % of the church must be planting (inviting) tell about cards
50 % of the church must be cultivation (friendship evangelism) bible studies –
changing lives
10 % of the church must be harvesting (soul winners) teaching people to reach
people

We must develop a plan to reach our city.

1. We must pray.
2. Remember the zeal you had as a new babe in Christ. (get it back)
3. Understand what God wants us to do as a member of his body (job)
4. Put a plan together to complete the job he has given us.
5. Set personal goals, 1 month, 1 year, 2 years, and 5 years.

Remember your job may or may not be proportional to the job God gives your
neighbor.
Paul told timothy to do the job of an evangelist. (2 Timothy 3:5)

Evangelist: One who teaches, preaches, or converts to Christianity.
