There are 200 different cell types that vary greatly in shape, size, and function. The basic parts of a cell include the nucleus, which controls the cell; chromatin containing the cell's blueprints; cytoplasm where organelles float; and a plasma membrane that regulates what enters and exits. Key organelles are the mitochondria, which produce energy, endoplasmic reticulum for transporting molecules, and lysosomes for breaking down waste.

Cell Diversity There are 200 different cell types that vary greatly in shape, size, and function. Cell Parts • Nucleus is like the main control of the entire cell. • Chromatin are the blueprints of making molecules. • The Cytoplasm is a fluid all the organelles float around in. • Plasma Membrane controls what come in and out of a cell. If it does not want something to come in or out it would not let it. • Mitochondria use sugar to make energy that the cell uses to perform functions.
• Endoplasmic Reticulum is a path along which
molecules move from one part of the cell to another.
• The Lysosomes eat away dead parts and old
waste. • The Golgi Apparatus packages proteins and sends them out of the cell.
