In mobile networks, the vertical handover is one of the most important phases. ). Our objective
is to study the impact of the MIH (Media Independent Handover) in the presence of various
protocols of transport (TCP New-Reno and TCP Vegas) by considering various parameters
related to QoS (Quality of Service) (flow, loss of the packages). This evaluation is carried out
in a context of mobility of a user between two heterogeneous mobile networks Wifi and
Wimax.

We consider a topology where a user (node mobile: MN) moves from Zone A (Wifi) to Zone B
(Wimax) by carrying out a communication VOIP (Voice Over IP). The range of the wifi is 20
m and for Wimax is 500m.

The mobile leaves the Wifi zone towards the Wimax zone with a certain constant speed. The
router replaces the backbone of the operator of communication. Table 1. summarizes the
various parameters of simulation.
