NATURAL

VEGETATION & WILD

LIFE …
 An ecosystem is a biological
environment consisting of all
the organisms living in a
particular area, as well as all
the nonliving, physical
components of the
environment with which the
organisms interact, such as air,
soil, water, and sunlight. It is
all the organisms in a given
area, along with the nonliving
(abiotic) factors with which
they interact; a biological
community and its physical
environment.
Ecosystem…
 The term ecosystem was coined in 1930 by Roy
Clapham to mean the combined physical and
biological components of an environment. British
ecologist Arthur Tansley later refined the term,
describing it as "The whole system, … including
not only the organism-complex, but also the
whole complex of physical factors forming what
we call the environment".Tansley regarded
ecosystems not simply as natural units, but as
mental isolates. Tansley later defined the spatial
extent of ecosystems using the term ecotope.
Natural Vegetation
 Tropical Evergreen
forests.
 Tropical Deciduous
forests.
 The Thorn and
Scrubs.
 Montane forest.
 Mangrove forest.
TROPICAL EVERGREEN FOREST
 These forests are restricted to heavy
rainfall.
 They are at there best areas having more
than 200 cm of rainfall with a short dry
season.
 Important trees of these forests are
ebony,mhogany,rrosewood,rubber.
 The common animals are
elephants,monkey,deer.
Tropical Deciduous Forests
 Deciduous means falling off at maturity or tending to
fall off and is typically used in reference to trees or
shrubs that lose their leaves seasonally and to the
shedding of other plant structures such as petals after
flowering or fruit when ripe. In a more specific sense
deciduous means the dropping of a part that is no
longer needed, or falling away after its purpose is
finished. In plants it is the result of natural processes.
Deciduous has a similar meaning when referring to
animal parts such as deciduous antlers in deer, or
deciduous teeth, also known as baby teeth, in some
mammals (including human children).
THORN FORESTS & SCRUBS
 In regions less than 70cm of rainfall, the
natural vegetation consists of thorny trees
and bushes.
 These type of vegetation is mostly found
in Gujrat,Rajasthan,Madhya Pradesh.
 The common animals are mice.rabbits and
deers.
