What
is
faithworks?
faithworks
is
a
missions
trip
organized
by
the
Youth
Department
of
the
Western
District
for
students
and
young
adults
age
18
and
older.
It
is
an
opportunity
to
experience
the
culture,
faith,
and
scenery
of
another
country
quite
different
from
our
own.
It
is
a
challenge
to
share
your
abiliPes
and
blessings
with
others
who
are
less
fortunate.
It
is
an
environment
where
you
can
reach
deep
within
and
find
a
true
calling
and
purpose
for
your
life.
Why
we
are
going?
It
is
our
desire
to
share
the
strength
of
our
youth
to
assist
a
missionary
on
foreign
soil
in
any
way
they
need
assistance.
It
may
involve
painPng
a
church
house,
cleaning
underbrush
for
a
church
meePng,
singing
and
worshiping
in
a
different
language
environment,
and
praying
for
people
you
don’t
know.
It
will
give
you
a
greater
appreciaPon
for
the
blessings
you
enjoy
at
home.
What
will
we
be
doing?
We
will
fly
from
San
Francisco
to
San
Jose,
Costa
Rica,
where
we
will
meet
the
local
missionaries,
David
Schwarz
and
Paul
Rivero.
They
will
direct
us
in
the
areas
that
need
our
assistance.
We
will
visit
some
local
aZracPons
in
and
around
San
Jose,
including
a
visit
to
an
acPve
volcano
and
a
walk
through
a
rain/cloud
forest.
It
will
be
a
special
joy
to
parPcipate
in
the
local
services,
singing,
worshiping
and
praying
with
other
Pentecostal
believers
and
assisPng
with
outreach
to
their
communiPes.
How
safe
is
it?
Security
is
always
a
concern
when
traveling
to
another
country.
While
it
is
not
without
risk,
the
country
of
Costa
Rica
is
one
of
the
safest
Central
American
countries
for
visitors
from
the
US.
The
local
missionary
will
advise
us
on
local
areas
to
avoid
and
provide
assistance
for
our
group.
