Title : Face Recognition

Description
A facial recognition system is a computer-driven application for automatically identifying or
verifying a person from a digital still or video image. It does that by comparing selected facial
features in the live image and a facial database. This project is a stimulation of Discrete cosine
transform (DCT) algorithm. The stimulation based on the police in Tamp Bay, Florida used to
search for potential criminals and terrorists in attendance at the event. This project is completely
based on graphic processing and rendering. The project requires study about the Vector Algebra as
the Algorithm Eigenfaces as dependent on a set called Eigen Vectors. Some mathematical terms
used in this project are Principal Component analysis, Covariance Matrix. Person identification is
one of the most crucial building blocks for smart interactions. Either as an assistant in human-
human interactions, e.g. a memory aid that tells the person who he is talking to, or in human-
machine interactions, e.g. a machine that recognizes its user and customizes the preferences
accordingly, it provides the most important characteristic of natural interactions, personalization.
Besides, the identity of a person can be used to improve the performances of the other perceptual
technologies.

Description
Business intelligence applications represent an important opportunity for data mining techniques to
help firms gather and analyze information about their performance, customers, competitors, and
business environment. Knowledge representation and data visualization tools constitute one form of
business intelligence techniques that present information to users in a manner that supports
business decision-making processes. In this project, we develop a new data analysis and
visualization technique that presents complex multi attributes temporal data in a cohesive
graphical manner by building on well-established data mining methods. Business intelligence tools
gain their strength by supporting decision-makers, and our technique helps the users leverage their
domain expertise to generate knowledge visualization diagrams from complex data and further
customize them. Organizations and firms are capturing increasingly more data, and this data is
often transactional in nature, containing multiple attributes and some measure of time.
