1.2. Gross: hepatic portal system, abdominal aorta,branches of mesenteric arteries,
epiglottis & folds, common bile duct, pancreatic duct, peritoneum, inguinal hernias,
omentum, inferior vena cava,
1.3. Histology: salivary glands and how to differentiate them, GI tract epithelium + villi,
cells of the liver amd pancreas
2. Physiology:
2.1. Digestion - starvation
2.2. Functions of liver - jaundice, cirrhosis,
2.3. Functions of gallbladder- steatorrhea
2.4. Functions of pancreas - diabetes mellitus
3. Biochemistry:
3.1. Protien:essential and non essential amino acids,
3.2. Lipid metabolism- liver lipoproteins and their types and functions, lipogenesis,
ketogenesis, unsaturated vs. saturated fatty acids, essential fatty acids, cholesterol
