a) Compute measures of central tendency for Real Retail Price of Chicken Per Pound, Real Retail Price
per Pound, and Retail Price of Beef Per Pound.
b) Compute the standard Deviation and Coefficient of Variation for the prices of the three edibles.
Which price is relatively stable and consistence. Why do you say so?

2. Sample of light bulbs were bought from two suppliers and were subjected to destruction test in the lab.

3. The cost of olive oil in a particular area is given as below. Cost per liter for first 120 liters is Rs. 85/- Cost
per liter for the next 300 liters is Rs. 81.50/- . Cost per liter for oil bought above 420 liters is Rs.79.70/-.

4. Population data between 1950 and 2004 for all the States of USA is given in file USAPop.xls. The
countries Election commission would like to restructure the constituencies if there is a wide difference
between population during 1950 and 2004. Use appropriate test to see whether there is any significant
difference in population growth between the two time periods.

5. A set of twelve students were given intensive coaching and five tests were conducted in a month. The
scores of test 1 and test 5 were given in below. Use appropriate test to find out whether the scores from
test 1 to test 5 show any significant improvement ? Use 1% , 5% and 10% level of significance.

6. A sample of 400 male students is found to have a mean height of 67.47 inches. Can it be reasonably
regarded as a sample from a large population with mean height of 67.39 inches and a standard deviation
of 1.30 inches ? Test at 5% level of significance.
