    Carlos "Botong" Francisco was a Filipino painter born in 1914 who studied fine arts at UP. He adopted a modernist style and was known for his murals depicting Filipino history, mythology, and culture. Some of his most famous works included murals for the International Fair in Manila in 1953 and the Stations of the Cross for the Far Eastern University in 1956.
