A story of a nation

We were in Tahrir Square...

The Egyptian American Alliance

We have

seen
the uprising of a nation and people standing for their rights.
However, so much in this revolution remains

unseen
The Egyptian people have proven to their
government, and to the world, their solidarity
and unity - regardless of religion.
What about the sectarian issues
the regime has been emphasizing?
As muslims prayed, their christian brothers and
sisters formed a human chain - protecting them.
Although churches were unguarded during
the chaos and looting, no harm was done to
any one of them. Muslims stood to protect
them with their fellow christians.
And for the first time, Mass was held in a public
square. Again we saw solidarity, as muslims
stood around their fellow christians.
The Egyptian people have proven that a civilized
society can indeed make a difference.
People came to the Tahrir Square from all walks of life,
with no hidden agenda. They came for freedom and
democracy. They came united for a better Egypt.
Maintain the momentum to keep the spirit of solidarity.
