amounts are based on federal eligibility. Loan eligibility cannot exceed your total cost of attendance. Grade year eligibility is
outlined as follows:

Summer Session (Should submit a Summer Aid Application first)


Students who were unable to earn the full amount of their Summer Savings Expectation (SSE) or used summer earnings for
valid summer expenses may use this form to request an SSE Adjustment. If you do not have Direct Loan already in your initial
aid package and are requesting loan to cover your SSE it will be deducted from your Direct Loan maximum. If you have loan as
part of your initial aid package, you may be awarded a Federal Perkins or Cornell University loan depending on eligibility. If
you have received an outside award that reduced Cornell Grant in your aid package, please complete the Summer Savings
Expectation Adjustment for Grant Aid Reimbursement form available on our website prior to submitting this loan request.
Summer Savings Expectation levels are as follows:

$2,370 First Year Summer Savings Expectation


$2,990 Sophomore Summer Savings Expectation
$3,130 Junior Summer Savings Expectation
$3,350 Senior Summer Savings Expectation

I authorize the Office of Financial Aid and Student Employment to process my William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan or SSE
Adjustment. I understand that if I am not eligible for the full subsidized amount requested, the remaining loan amount will be
awarded in unsubsidized Direct Loan. I permit Cornell University to release loan disbursement information to me
electronically. Please note that in order to receive a federal or Cornell University (Shoemaker) loan for the first time, the
Electronic Master Promissory Note must be signed and online Entrance Counseling completed before loans will disburse and prior
to June 15, 2011.
