my fear is everywhere
terrified to make
motion
my fear is out there
an island in the middle of
the ocean
i͛m floating
face down
grasping at nothing
to upright
don͛t drown
gasping for air
my chest is tight
feeling weakened
my eyes close
to the night
i feel the calm
as i walk
towards the light
i want to breathe
but
i͛m afraid to take that breath
you might leave
and
that͛s a step too close to the death
of
perfection
i pray for the resurrection
of a love
a catalyst to create a god
above
my fear is everywhere.
