METHYLPREDNISOLONE (SOLU-MEDROL) PROTOCOL FOR SPINAL CORD INJURY

1. Place completed copy of protocol in orders section of the medical record.

2. Methylprednisolone IV bolus:
Infuse 30 mg/kg over 15 minutes
Concentration: 50 mg/ml in normal saline

3. Wait 45 minutes

4. Methylprednisolone IV maintenance infusion:

Infuse 5.4 mg/kg/hour x 23 hours
Concentration: 50 mg/ml
