ABSTRACT

Microsoft- the software giant came with their latest OS on

October 22, 2009 named Windows 7. After the disastrous
Windows Vista, Microsoft’s reputation was at stake with
Windows 7. But the release of Windows 7 they managed to
regain their pride which they lost with the release of
Windows Vista. Windows Vista when released it looked very
attractive and promising but as the days passed on it proved
to be Microsoft’s biggest mistake of all time. With Windows
Vista, those in the know fought an uphill battle trying to
convince the people that it wasn’t as horrible as the pundits
and the know nothing bloggers claimed.

But Windows 7 was

different. This time around, Microsoft has tweaked,
prodded, and improved virtually every single aspect of the
OS, and as a result the Windows Vista goose has evolved
into the Windows 7 swan. Despite sharing common
underpinnings, Windows 7 is perceived to be dramatically
superior to Windows Vista. And that opinion is nearly
universal: all those clowns that were falling over each other
to out-criticize Window Vista now can’t compliment
Windows 7 enough. For once, they may be on to something:
Windows 7 is the best OS to come out of Redmond in a long,
long time.

Virtually
everywhere you look, the reviews are positive. With
Windows 7, Microsoft has finally provided a technically
excellent and lust-worthy desktop OS. It’s “Vista done
right.”

While Windows 7 performs better than Windows

Vista, it’s still slower than XP on the same hardware and
less compatible with existing hardware and software, even
with the Windows XP Mode solution. We think that’s just
fine. After all, Windows XP is almost a decade old. More
important, the differences are minimal and negligible on
newer hardware. In this presentation we will try and analyse
the features of Windows 7.
