Does your group agree or not that Indian manager’s personality
type limits empowerment of subordinates? Therefore creation of
strong empowered teams does not take place down the line.

What kind of organisational culture will ensure empowerment and
successful implementation of business strategies in the Indian
culture context?
 Culture dwells upon traditions, beliefs, rituals, information and
language
 Human Resource: Most valuable resource
 Agreed not to go for any particular type of organisational culture
 Ensuring empowerment:
 Valuing employees
 Sharing information and vision of organization
 Giving direction and goal sharing with workers
 Enhancing trust
 Involvement of workers in decision making
 Like British Culture if the empowered employee doesn’t cover much
ground, then examine situation and the strategies.
 Level of empowerment to be provided should be decided before-
hand
 Level of empowerment should be on the basis
 The importance of that particular employee
 The extent of interaction that particular employee needs to have
 The level of crucial decisions that the employee needs to take
 Employee being empowered should be competent, qualified and
trained enough to take crucial decisions
