Week 02
From the list of fonts below, carefully select two faces with which to typeset the
word vegetable. (The two faces are to be used in the same word) Using your
letter forms, create a diagram that illustrates the typographic terms of anatomy
found on the previous page.
Save your working process in 5 interim steps (thought, sketch, concept, draft,
final) on the way to creating your final diagram and include them as part of your
delivery.
Requirements:
Working file to be created in illustrator on letter size horizontal sheet.
Print the results, making sure your name is on the sheet and also email a PDF
to blanks@newschool.edu
Considerations:
Make sure you choose one serif and one sans serif face.
Note that all of these fonts may not be available in the lab's font library!
old style, transitional, modern, egyptian, sans serif (humanist, transitional & geometric)
Cut them out of magazine or newspaper articles dedicated to food. Paste them into
your journal and write the classification names and why you think it belongs to that
class.
