Objective of the course: (III)

 To train students with good scientific and engineering breadth so as to comprehend,


analyze, design and create novel products and solutions for the production problems.
 To provide practical knowledge to understand the theoretical concepts of production
technology.
 To obtain better quality & accuracy in manufactured products.

Outcomes Expected:

o Graduates will be able to identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems.


o Graduates will demonstrate an ability to conduct experiments, analyze and interpret
data.
o Graduates will be able to do their research work with good observation.
o Students can serve society with economic growth in manufacturing sector.

Pedagogy: 1. Whole class is divided into two groups each of 30 students.


2. Each group is divided into 5 batches with 6 students.
3. Every week they have lab class of 3 hours.
4. Half an hour to explain the experiment, and 2&1/2hours students will do jobs.

Course Details:

1. A job on lathe with taper turning, thread cutting, knurling and groove cutting
2. Gear cutting (with index head) on milling m/c
3. Working with shaper, planer and slotting m/c
4. Working with surface/ cylindrical grinding
5. TIG/ MIG welding, gas cutting

Beyond Syllabus:
A job on lathe with plain turning and step turning, indexing methods

Evaluation: This course is having a lab constitutes of 10 experiments and a lab exam of 100
marks. Depending on the individual performance in each lab, attendance, viva voice, observation,
record and external exam he will be awarded the marks.
