1. I produced a Deadmau5 head for my culminating project. This project took all of
my engineering skills to produce. The head looks like a Mickey Mouse head but
with exaggerated shapes. It relates to the dubstep group Deadmau5 with its lights
and internal speakers, which are very similar to their own heads.
2. I want to study engineering when I am in college and hopefully later in life I will
become an engineer. By having to design this head fully inside and out I had to
take an image and make a 3D model out of it. As far a research went I had to look
up how acoustics work and how to work with led lights.
3. I had to learn how to solder wires together for the electronics. I also learned about
how to work with fabrics and paper mache. I also learned about reupholstery
when I had to place fabric around the head. Also when I studied Deadmau5’s
history I learned much more about them as a music group.
4. This project is meaningful for me because in the past year I have really enjoyed
listening to Deadmau5’s music and music similar to it.
5. By learning how to take an image or idea and make it into a physical object is
directly linked to engineering, the cerrear field that I want to get into.
