Developing Art Making Practices


The Field of Mars EEC is offering a professional learning course led by an expert art teacher to
provide K-6 teachers with the knowledge and skills to engage students in visual arts focused
environmental and sustainability education. It is designed to heighten awareness of living things
and remarkable environments in which they live.

Hands-on creation of environmental and sustainability focused art


A range of effective and successful art making techniques
Expert and collegiate advice on art making in the classroom
5 hours of Institute registered professional development *

In this course participants will:


- Participate in and experience practical hands on art activities that focus on exploring, observing and
investigating environments and other living things.
- Develop teachers’ art making practice - imagination, exploration, observation, investigation, and skills such
as print making.
- Be provided with a selection of tools and equipment to teach specific art lessons.

Dates: Mon 28th March and repeated on Wed 30th March Time: 8.00am - 3.30pm
Venue: Field of Mars Environmental Education Centre, Pittwater Road, East Ryde
Cost: $150 inc GST (Includes breakfast, morning tea, lunch and resources)

For teachers accredited at Professional Competence, completion of this program will contribute 18 hours towards Institute Registered professional
development. This course or program will address the following Professional Teaching Standards: 1.2.3, 3.2.2, 3.2.4
