In what ways do you intend your media product to use,
develop or challenge forms and conventions?

With our media film, we decided to develop the
conventions of and action film. To make sure we meet
the conventions of an action film, in the pre-production
stage we conducted research in to current action films on
the market. We looked at what they include, and what
makes that film come under the action film genre.

On the next of slides I will be going through with you how our
group has developed the conventions of an action film.

To follow the conventions of an action film we put

our company’s production name/logo at the
beginning of the film, this we found common in all
the action films we analysed and we wanted to
incorporate it into our film, which we felt we done
successfully.
Evaluation

Through my research into current action films, I decided to

analyze the opening 2min of the film Hancock.
Here we have a high angle aerial shot which I found in the film
Hancock. This give the audience an overall view of the scene
and it gives the feel that the audience are at an advantage

Due to this affect of the angel shot, I felt it would suit our film
when Adam is escaping from the mental home
Evaluation

Here we have a quick sequence of a variety of different shots

to give a high tempo feel for the film
Evaluation

Here we have film credits at the beginning of the

film which breaks up the action of the film and
allows the action to jump forward in time and
switch location and still keep the continuity.
Evaluation

Here we have a flash back within the opening 2min of

our teams film and the film Taken. This indicates to
the viewer that something that has happened to the
actor in the past which will be uncovered later on in
the film. This creates suspense.
